History
Msaken has been founded by a
group of Hussein Ibn Ali and Fatima Ez-zahra Prophet (s-a-w-s) daughter
descendants.
Their ancestors had came to North Africa escaping Abbassides masters of
Baghdad who had been with cruel fight against sharif people
(descendants of Hassan and hussein sons of Ali and Fatima).
They have founded a Sharif Emirate in Taguedmett near actual
Tiaret in Algeria west center.
After 3 generations and afterwards of the fall of this Emirate, some of their
descendants have lived in east Morocco near wajda for some times.
Then some of their descendants emigrate to Kairouan
in Tunisia. After some decades, they founded MSAKEN town in Hafside times
who had their capital in Tunis. Their town was called in the beginning
[Kousour al Ashraf], which means Sharif's houses then
[Masakin al Ashraf], the same meaning and finally Masakin,Msaken
with the North-Africain spelling, means houses. The town core had been founded
around the actual jamma al awsat (which means the central mosque) and was
compound of 5 ksars (great house):
